WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with higher variance due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players through Best item upgrader upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using the help of button, which will show an image of the item level upgrade; you can try this out, at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with several new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same Best item upgrade level will cost less. This is even if those items come from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
