WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader kit upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with an The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade items system. When a player has an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less, even if they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item level upgrade that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type or gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade item for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
