World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader kit to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that an upgrade items alone can cause.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. In the case of items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their effectiveness. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative value of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference to your survival. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. The more defense your character is, the more value you get out of each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you're looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid environments with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also get some benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to let you escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or the Alchemist's chest. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrade's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you make use of it again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance are now available with a time of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds shown on the item upgrade hover display. The potion table can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and refills the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that has a purpose but isn't important as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. You can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're no longer needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket, unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying the new one.
