Five Killer Quora Answers On Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft - item upgrading, try here,
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing however, it could have negative consequences too. In the case of items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can render them useless unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their stats. This can increase the defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading and their respective values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you can get out of each point of health you possess therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as you can.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a few friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to let you sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "upgrade items" from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item upgrade). The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant like a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade item their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying new ones. One can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the previous trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer useful and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should also consider the preferred statistics of their class. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they no longer have value and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
