The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test on how well it was able to clean baking powder near corners and baseboards. Its 2,500Pa of suction was less powerful than other robots however, it moved swiftly and was quiet. It didn't clean, however its washable pads were fiddly to attach and couldn't cope with dried-on dirt.
The app is basic, lacking advanced features like multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does support Alexa, but its voice controls aren't particularly clear or responsive. And it's also a little unreliable when it comes returning to the charging station after an outing -- other robots can trace a previous path or even follow a wall around until they reach their destination however, the RX3 just bumbles about until it gives up and sends a message of failure to your phone.
We also encountered issues with the intelligent features of the device, including its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a great job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be hung up by cables and socks and was unable to handle the tassels of rugs. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to traditional uprights.
