Upgrades can boost the power of a piece of gear and sometimes even its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random augmentations that are applied.

For instance, the premium racial shield Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb ability in PvP or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradable than the perfect non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens permit you to reroll a purchased item, like a weapon, armor or ring. The item is replaced with another of the same kind however with different benefits. Reroll tokens can be an economical method of upgrading equipment. They don't maintain the original level of the item and any money wasted will not be refunded.
