Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or by voice.

In our testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households, but it also fits nicely on the coffee table or shelves where you can move it around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and many more. The app is simple to learn and use, just like other Samsung devices.

In our testing our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.
