20 Trailblazers Leading The Way In Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrader kit Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a frequent and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item upgrader kit they are attached to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using an expert or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will absorb. The damage absorption of a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. But, it's important to be aware that this upgrade will raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than it was before.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others make it lighter and stronger. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade the item upgrade upgrader mod; Learn Alot more, can be given, as illustrated below.
A few upgrades are magic or a mix of magic and technology, which is indicated by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges to use, which are shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh every day or never expire, according to the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the area and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can give players a significant boost in stats, and are definitely worth the investment.
The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it will also decrease the speed and agility of the piece. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For instance an upgrade could increase the damage dealt by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a rifle that snipes. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that improve their innate capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
Most weapon upgrades require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece, or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. In the past you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher rarity. You could do this until you reached the max upgrade level of the weapon or equipment, after which upgrades would reset.
You can still do this, but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels, but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will have a chance at gaining you the highest tier perks and blessings.
To improve their skills faster, many players prioritize upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates use to make them stronger. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in armor and weapons. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, in which you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a table. The higher the level of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts can vary depending on the level the jewel is at when it's slotted into weapons, jewelry, or equipment.
All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to qualify for these. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without destroying the original. However, you can only replace a jewel in an equipment piece once.
It is normal to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the diamonds create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots won't cause damage as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades additionally, players can obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost in power and can be exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and Scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be found through an upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with many small, but valuable benefits. They are available in the start-up area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through the completion of road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants a small but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they'll be able to get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar way to how a player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not in combat. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active, and can also help fill in the void of a solid team or the absence of any talent tree slots that normally are filled with hero's ideal stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is best to upgrade just one crucial stat than two less important ones.
At the beginning of the game, players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their yellow trinket to a red, while top and mid players typically choose either a pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
Apart from the items listed above, players can find other trinkets in the game in the form of trophies and awards. They can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, finishing the main quest of a chapter or defeating a boss. You can see them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
