For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level upgrade level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an Best item upgrader has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe.
