The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It makes use of AI to identify objects such as charging cords and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you photos of any object it encounters to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills quickly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
Its design is superior to the rest, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base's automatic vacuum cleaner Dirt Disposal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly took away dirt, dust, and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It was able to collect small gravel, sand and even a bit of grit. Most robots can't achieve this feat. It did this without getting caught in our pet's hair.
The j7+, while not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and it can be difficult to determine if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean smart robot floors, your best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but they often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and although it lacks certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones, modify your home map or change the room's label.
If you select the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place it is done with relative ease. It also features an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't essential for most people but it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and functionality are among the top robot vacuum available however it's expensive.
It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the few robot vacuums I've tried that does very well at collecting debris from plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It's also not able to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
Although it doesn't provide the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price cost.
If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors as well as carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be located close to an outlet that has plenty of space to move.
The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it is able to be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The most important feature that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters while retaining what it's cleaned and where it can't access. When it's time to recharge, it returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.
The sleek G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, is charged faster and has a similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and comes with the boundaries that restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky material like cereal.
