World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
upgrade item components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item upgrader kit, allowing players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade item components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Using Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item upgrader kit. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like dolphins). This item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Players will still have to bring every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses listed above.
