10 Things That Your Family Teach You About Item Upgrader

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This value is the total of all its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, dependent on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item's condition and its quality. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

On your PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are a few theories about how the item level calculation is done. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl as the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item upgrading. The rarity of an item upgrader kit determines its upgrade cost. A grey or white item for instance, can only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item upgrader kit with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it's an exclusive item level upgrade or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful for early game runs, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it does not work.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has a base success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
