10 Misconceptions Your Boss Has Concerning Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrades upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar Item Level Upgrade (Xintangtc.Com) will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.
Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade item their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
