Upgrades can increase the stats of a piece of equipment and sometimes even its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random enhancements applied.
The elite racial Shield Razortail for instance, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption capability in PvP or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more tradable than the non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an acquired item like a weapon, armor, or ring. This replaces the item with an identical item however with different benefits. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective method to upgrade equipment. They don't maintain the original item's level, and any resources wasted aren't rewarded.
The survivors can acquire reroll tokens by a variety of means like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in chests and crates or buy them from the store for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter the attributes of the equipment that could include increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.
Players can reroll equipment in three attributes, physical power, spell power, and health. Physical power increases the damage caused by weapons and melee attacks and spell power boosts rings and mage attacks. Health upgrades give players an additional level of health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available such as upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each of these upgrades an item to a higher-quality, with the requirement of an upgraded reroll token in order to produce it. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, while rare upgrades require a unique or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The reroll marker, unlike other special tokens or markers placed on action areas, remains on the space until the next Success is rerolled. This allows you to avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Stage, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. Once they're opened, they display a full description and an icon for the relevant appliance or ingredient. The restaurant's shop can trade blueprints for a brand new appliance or ingredient for an amount of money.

Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and other accessories. These stones are special stones that boost the value of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. These items can be obtained by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the major towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell these stones for a cost. These stones are also available to players who complete daily contracts.
To upgrade gear players must first locate the appropriate item and then click the "level up" button. The menu will appear that shows the item level upgrade's current status and what it will be after being upgraded as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to achieve this. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Most often rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, while uncommon armor requires a single blue or green Growth Stone.
Once they have decided on the upgrade, players must select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to use and pay the corresponding cost. Leveling
Leveling is an optional feature that lets players boost the stats of their weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. It's done by the combination of an item with upgrade components at the Upgrade Station and paying a cost of Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The upgrade item components will be consumed and the item will be upgraded to an upgrade to a higher level. This process can be repeated until the highest level for an item is attained.
Items with upgraded stats will have a blue icon next to their slot. Contrary to enchantments upgrade components do not stack with each other, but can only be added to a single item at one time. Additionally, each upgrade component will require a certain quantity of items to be applied, as well as an initial amount for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can choose to add an Best item upgrade that they wish to upgrade. On the right, an image of the equipment will look like when it reaches its next level. Once players have enough materials, pressing the yellow arrow will start the upgrade process.

Upgrade components are a form of equipment that is able to be inserted into armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools and other trinkets to give an extra effect or attribute bonus while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, looted, or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be changed by acquiring new ones. However, this will destroy the old upgrade.
Requirements
Items upgrades allow players to boost the stats of certain armors and weapons they already have equipped. The requirements for upgrading an item differ based on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium along with an amount of Upgrade tokens.
Items can be upgraded by adding upgrade components to equipment and weapons. This gives them extra effects or an increased level of the item. These upgrades can be obtained from a variety of sources within the game, including crafting, bought at the Trading Post or karma vendors, looted from bosses and raids, or collected from dungeons. Once an upgrade component has been placed in an item it cannot be removed and substituted without restriction, however glyphs placed in gathering tools can be swapped without limitation.
Upgrades can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity. Certain upgrade components have additional modifiers that can increase the stats of the item.
For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense and adds an extra 20% chance of blocking. The DPS "Wildfire", however increases damage to weapons.
Certain items benefit from being upgraded not so much for their improved stats, but because it allows players to gain the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item upgrading. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x more than the non-upp'd version.
The game will show you the requirements when you select the upgrade component to be incorporated into the item. This includes the type of item (either Weapon or Armor), the level of the item and the Upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
If you've fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade, the game will place the item in your inventory and the progress bar will change to show how close to completing it. You can also check the status of an upgrade by going to any item upgrader NPC.
