World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs as well as also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is Best item upgrade to place Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing upgrade item Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item upgrader mod is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost listed above.
