The Three Greatest Moments In Robot Vacuum Deals History
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to buy a robot vacuum now is the time. CNET's best vacuums-rated models will be available for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot vacuum hoover that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its greatest advancement is an obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System also self-empties, which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't accomplish this feat. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, is still an option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to tell whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the ideal choice. This type of robot typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your house simultaneously. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock produces some of our favorite robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't disappoint. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While it's not equipped with some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is superb too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones or alter your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place, emptying the bin can be accomplished with relative ease. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for everyone, however it can help you effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and functionality are some of the best self cleaning vacuum on the market however, it's also expensive.
The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require this.
And its vacuuming is impressive, too. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does a good job picking up debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors,, and it doesn't have an dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models that cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper however it comes with more features, such as the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets with low pile, and even high-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, just connect one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock close to an electrical outlet and enough space to allow it to move around however.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and can be tucked away under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The primary aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of non-movable objects that are in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it's time to recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it began.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with heavy materials such as cereal.
