Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide On Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrader Upgrades
item level upgrade upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to the more modernized Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the Item Upgrade they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of games and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kit to recover upgrades from the items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to maximum upgrade level will increase its damage absorption. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.
There are a few different types of armor upgrades available in the game and each one has distinct effects. For example, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of health points while others make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as shown in the table below.
Some upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is shown by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades are updated every day or never expire, according to the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest way to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive but is readily available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can give significant improvements in performance and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will greatly increase its defense capabilities however, the user must be aware that putting on weight will drastically reduce its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained generally isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. They can be gained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of bosses and monsters.
To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your equipment and weapon sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade item your weapon and equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.
This is still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear with low upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a higher likelihood of granting you highest tier benefits and blessings.
To increase their level faster, most players will be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons their teammates use to boost their strength. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used in conjunction with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in armor and weapons. They can be created using the process of jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem with various reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the jewel is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The quality of a diamond can be improved by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts can vary according to the tier that the jewel is at when it's inserted into jewelry, weapons or other gear.
All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to qualify for them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without damaging the original. However, you can only replace a jewel in a piece of equipment only once.
It is normal to use more jewelry to enhance the appearance of. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, so repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also acquire glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be recovered through an upgrade extractor, or salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with a variety of small, but beneficial, benefits. You can find them in the starter area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained through vendors and after the completion of road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased on the Trading Post.
The first trinket players will unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be placed in any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets also provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero is not in combat. This lets a hero be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the absence of strong team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's best stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is especially true if an item level upgrade has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually better to upgrade a single important stat than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however will pick a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
Aside from the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For example, completing a chapter’s main quest or defeating a boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
