10 Things That Your Family Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all its leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.
It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. The average item level can be found in the character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it's capable of causing. The item level can also be used to compare items when evaluating the inventory of a seller.
On your PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.
There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's actual item level.
This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The stat modifications of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The upgrade item costs are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can provide the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.
All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other options for rerolling.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item upgrade level, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade item equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is especially beneficial in the early game, since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it does not work.
When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..
The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases that chance by 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
