Upgrades can increase the stats of a piece and at times even add additional features. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the number of random augmentations that are applied.

The most powerful racial Shield Razortail, for example, is frequently upgraded to enhance its lightning absorption capability in PvP, and/or to add additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to buy a new item upgrading, such as a weapon, armor or ring. This allows you to swap the item for one similar item and comes with a different set of extra bonuses.
