World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase 3percent of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade items increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is Best item upgrader to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may increase in price even if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the max roll by 10 points. This item is highly important in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its initial state and the player having to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit attack damage, additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs mentioned above.
