What Will Item Upgrade Be Like In 100 Years
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade item increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. The item Level upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with some new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item upgrading for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even when they are part of a different gear set.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrade level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
