WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item level Upgrade that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will display the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item upgrading as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade item cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item upgrade level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of a different gear set.

The discount applies to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the upgrade items process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
